Acne vulgaris is one type of acne that is common during puberty, especially in males. Acne of this type is caused by an increase in testosterone. This also leads to an increase of oils and sebum in the skin, which then leads to acne because of excess proteins, which block pores. These outbreaks cannot only show up on the face, but also on the back, shoulders, and the chest.

Another type of acne is known as acne conglobata. This is more severe and usually is an increased version of acne vulgaris. Scarring can be a result of this kind of acne from pustules that accumulate on the skin, but don’t discharge, leaving their contents to infect the tissue that surrounds each pustule. This is definitely a form of acne that is important to understand ways of acne control, to fully eradicateĀ it.

Finally there is acne rosacea, which is more common in the middle age years, when the face is covered with pimples and becomes flushed, much like acne vulgaris. Sometimes it is caused by menopause hormone fluctuations. However, it may also be from fungal or parasite infections, from an imbalance in the metabolism, from digestion issues, or malnutrition in the form of a vitamin B deficiency. This is another form of acne possible to eradicate with proper methods of acne control.

Usually in all acne forms it is caused by something internal, whether it is too much oil production, the kidneys and liver not functioning correctly, or even from hormonal fluctuations. Whatever the cause, there are specific methods to combat these problems with acne control in the form of herbal remedies and topical treatments. Aloe vera is one such remedy, which comes in pure herb forms, or as a gel which can be used on the skin. In the case of acne conglobata, it is usually wise to apply both topical treatments and internal ones to work towards the ultimate outcome of acne control. Aloe vera is also found in tea form, and can be consumed orally to help soothe the internal organs which may be contributing to toxins on the skin, which result in acne.

No matter what type of acne you have, acne control is still possible as long as you are patient. It usually takes a matter of weeks to see any change in skin conditions, and may require both herbal remedies and topical treatments to control acne. Be prepared to apply these treatments several times to see improvements in the skin, and always talk to your doctor before trying any acne treatment option.
